Thinking of making a move but not sure where to start? Check out this helpful guide!

Whether you're an experienced mover or a total novice, selling a property can be a lot to think about! So I've put together a few simple steps to make things a little easier.

So, you're thinking about selling your home? Exciting times! Whether you're upsizing, downsizing or just fancy a fresh start, it's important to get those first few steps right.

Here’s a quick guide to help you get going:

1. Ask Yourself – Why Move?
Before anything else, take a moment to think about why you want to move. Is it more space, a different location, a change in lifestyle? Knowing your motivation helps shape everything else—from how soon you want to move, to what kind of property you’ll be looking for next.

2. Get an Online Valuation with Chase Holmes
Curious what your home is worth? Get an instant ballpark figure with our online valuation tool. It only takes a minute and gives you a rough idea of your property's value—perfect for a little early planning. Remember to take these figures with a pinch of salt though, it uses the latest data but it can't factor in anything specific that makes your home shine!

3. Book an In-Person Valuation (That’s Where I Come In!)
While the online tool is great for starters, nothing beats a proper valuation with a local expert. Don't worry if this is your first valuation, its all very easy: I’ll pop round, have a look at your home, and then its just a lovely chat to give you a more accurate idea of what it could sell for. No pressure, no jargon, no sales pitch—just honest advice.

If you're ready to get booked in, you can request an appointment by clicking here or give us a call 7 days a week!

4. Sign Up for Our Heads Up Property Alerts
Even if you're just testing the waters, our Heads Up Property Alerts are brilliant. You’ll get a sneak peek at homes before they hit the major portals. Who knows—you might spot your dream home while you’re getting ready to sell yours.

5. STOP! Take a breather and stop overplanning
Everybody says how stressful it is to sell your home... but not me! Selling a property is the same as anything you do in life; if you try to do everything all at once you will get overwhelmed and each part of the process will feel harder. The best way to approach it is by taking everything one baby step at a time.

You don't have to start to worrying about which solicitor you want to use before you've even had a valuation, and there's no point in clearing out your loft just for a viewing! We'll guide you through each section of your move to make it as manageable as possible with helpful advice wherever you need it.

And that's it! Don't overthink things, and remember that this is an exciting time!

Hopefully this little guide has helped make things easier for the start of your next property adventure, and I can't wait to see you at your valuation!
